SARASOTA – CircuSoul Yoga studio owner Kerry Tice says ariel yoga is twofold, allowing you to dive into traditional asana yoga poses while being completed supported, and in some cases literally cocooned.

“Aerial arts can be really really challenging and actually quite intimidating. The aerial hammock really allows the aerial practice to become accessible to people of all different types of practices and to people with no experience at all,” says owner Kerry Tice.

And people looking to connect with their inner child.

“And that’s what people do, they get in here they feel like a kid again, they start giving a little swing. And it’s just so nurturing to let that part of ourselves out and just to be able to have some fun,” says Tice.

Fun, yes, but this low impact exercise combination of visual theatrics and strength offers some deep benefits too.

“It’s something that allows you to really engage your core and create some stability in the hips. When you do yoga, all the gamut of emotions come up,” says Tice.

Circusoul’s aerial yoga program is based in yoga therapy, so it will be a meditative experience as well. But don’t worry, the peak of the class is the moment most seek; the infamous inversion.

“You’re going to have better energy; it flushes the lymph system. Literally every single system is either directly affected by the inversion, or indirectly affected by it. So there’ not a thing in your body that’s not affected by it when you go upside down,” says Tice.

CircuSoul was recently named Best Yoga Studio of Florida for 2023 by Travel and Hospitality Awards. They offer several other programs, including hot yoga. Visit CircuSoul.com for class listings and times.
