Good morning, Suncoast! Meteorologist Eric Kasunich here with your Max Defender weather update.
I hope you enjoyed yesterday's weather because today will be quite similar. Yesterday, we experienced a high of 74°F with a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day and no rain. So, you have the green light for outdoor activities. Just remember to layer up, as we are starting out with temperatures in the mid-50s around the area, but it will heat up to about 76°F today.
Tomorrow, we can expect some changes in the weather pattern. A low-pressure system will form off the coast of Texas and move to the northeast. Here in Florida, we will be affected by the descending cold front, which will produce scattered showers that can be heavy at times. The rain will begin around 3 PM and last through the evening. This means if you have plans to be outside on Saturday, you are still okay for the first half of the day, but the second half will be dreary.
Behind this cold front, north winds will take over and push cooler, drier air into our region. Thursday and Friday of this week will be the chilliest, with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. This cool down is short-lived because on Saturday and into Sunday, southerly winds will warm us up a bit before more showers on Sunday. The showers on Sunday are associated with another passing front; however, it is tracking more to the north. I will keep an eye out for updates on this and will keep you posted.
Stay tuned for more weather updates, and have a great day!
