MANILA, PH (SNN-TV) – Team USA is now 2-0 in group play at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

The USA followed its dominant win over New Zealand with a 109-81, 28-point victory today over a Greece team that was without Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

It was a balanced American attack. Austin Reaves led all scorers with 15 points off the bench while Jalen Brunson and Anthony Edwards led Team USA’s starters in scoring with 13 points each.

Georgios Papagiannis had a strong night with 17 points in 23 minutes, but it wasn’t enough to keep Greece close.

Getting to the second round isn’t exactly a surprise for the U.S., the current tournament favorites and a team seeking a sixth World Cup gold medal. Team USA will now face Jordan on Wednesday in group-stage finale.
