SARASOTA (SNN-TV) – Big news last night at the Sarasota County School Board meeting as the Ram Bowl, will officially be prefaced by “John Sprague Field”.
The new name obviously honors Riverview Rams legend, former head football coach John Sprague.
After 30 years and 230 wins Coach Sprague retired back in 2011. Tallying 11 district titles, six regional championships, four trips to the Final Four and two state championship appearances.
Next month, October 27th, Riverview takes on Sarasota, where there will be a ceremony during the game honoring the newly named field and Coach Sprague.
