SARASOTA COUNTY (WSNN) A decorated World War II veteran celebrates turning 101-years-old on Saturday.
Friends and family drove by Ernie Jelinek’s home to help celebrate the veteran’s birthday.
More than a dozen bikers and cars showed up and gathered along his driveway to sing happy birthday and thank him for his service.
Smiling from ear to ear, Jelinek, who was born in 1919, says he feels grateful for the attention and for his community for coming out and joining him on his special day.
