(WSNN) – The weekend is here! So, here are some events to look out for:

Prepare to get your rainbow on because June is Pride Month! It’s a time to celebrate the LGBTQ community. Some of the many events related to Pride include a Ride for Pride Car parade from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday. Plus the Grand Carnival later that night from 7-10 p.m. On Sunday, there is a Broadway Brunch from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. For all Pride-related events, you can click here.

 

Sunday is National Cancer Survivor Day! So, if you have won the fight, you are invited to a special drive-in celebration at the GROVE restaurant in Lakewood Ranch this Sunday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. It’s free of charge and reservations are limited to a survivor and a guest. You choose a “Gourmet-to-go” meal and select a time to pick it up. You can find more details here.

 

Dog lovers, this one is for you! The Dog Days of Summer is happening at The Bazaar, Saturday at 11 a.m. It’s complete with a dog costume contest for your four-legged friends. Grand prize winners receive a custom pet portrait. Plus, dog vendors and multiple animal rescues will be there if you want to adopt a dog looking for a forever home. Grab your popcorn, because Movie Nights return to CoolToday Park this weekend! The family-friendly events will take place on most Sundays during June and July inside the stadium, with the movies shown on the scoreboard. The first screening is this Sunday night at 6 p.m. of the film, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” You can find ticket information here.

 

Now don’t forget, Friday night, we have Music on Main on Lakewood Ranch’s Main Street which goes from 6-9 p.m. And Fresh Fridays, which is Downtown Sarasota’s free monthly block party that goes from 7-10 p.m. on Main Street.
