VILLANOVA, PA (SNN-TV) – Villanova’s basketball coach, Jay Wright is retiring, saying it’s time for a new era of Villanova basketball.

The 60-year-old coached the Wildcats for 21 seasons, winning two national titles. Most recently, he took the school to its fourth Final Four a few weeks ago.

Villanova says former assistant coach Kyle Neptune will take the reigns now. Wright will still be part of the University as Special Assistant to the President.

Wright retires with 642 victories.
