SARASOTA (WSNN) – A two-vehicle crash draws a large law enforcement presence at Fruitville Road and East Avenue, Tuesday morning.
Sarasota Police and Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies worked together at the scene. Deputies on the scene said there was an outstanding warrant for the driver of one of the vehicles. They added he may be involved in an active and ongoing criminal investigation.
The driver ran away from the scene and was almost immediately apprehended by deputies. The suspect suffered minor injuries. He was taken to the Sheriff’s headquarters.
The roadway reopened a few hours later.
