NEW YORK, NY (SNN-TV) – Yesterday we brought you a story about Super Bowl Champion Anthony Hargrove’s pride around his son Tre Carroll making it to the Sweet 16 with FAU. Well, today is game day and the Owls season is on the line.

Tonight at 9pm at Madison Square Garden, the 9-seed Florida Atlantic Owls collide with 4-seed Volunteers of Tennessee. In only the program’s second NCAA Tournament appearance, FAU enters this Sweet 16 match-up coming off an opening round win over Memphis and a round of 32 victory against 16-seed Fairleigh Dickinson.

After a redshirt season last year, Carroll has appeared in limited minutes this year, but stays ready to contribute at a moments notice. The former Charlotte High star tells me that he’s making a lifetime of memories during this March Madness run, and the magnitude of the moment is not something he overlooks.

“It’s crazy to think that little ol‘ me, from little ol‘ Port Charlotte, made it to the Sweet 16. You know what I mean? Little ol‘ Charlotte High School, little olPunta Gorda Middle School, Port Charlotte Middle School, and Liberty Elementary, this is where I’m at in 2023, years later, this is where I am. Not a lot of people expected this, but for me, this is the expectation.” – Tre Carroll

Again, tonight’s contest tips-off at 9pm and can be seen on TBS. If you want to support Tre even further, feel free to visit his Instagram where you’ll find links to purchase his latest merchandise and trading cards.
