FOXBOROUGH (SNN-TV) – The NFL’s most talked about return took place last night, as Tom Brady returned to Foxborough when the Bucs and Patriots clashed on Sunday Night Football.

Brady returned to his old stomping grounds and promptly reminded the Patriots what they’re missing.

Brady rallied the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 19-17 victory over the Patriots on a rainy Sunday night, with Ryan Succop hitting the winning 48-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter.

Brady was 22 of 43 for 269 yards with no touchdowns, but engineered the fourth-quarter drive to beat the team he led to six Lombardi trophies.

Tom Brady broke Drew Brees‘ NFL career passing yardage record and became the fourth quarterback with victories against all 32 NFL teams, joining Brees, Brett Favre and Peyton Manning.

New England had a chance to win, but Nick Folk’s 56-yard field-goal try hit the left upright with less than a minute to play.

“I had a few emotional moments this week just thinking about all the people that have really meant so much to me in my life, that are apart of this community. Very grateful for an amazing time here. Like I said, my football journey took me somewhere else, but I’m really enjoying that.”

The Bucs escaped with a win but not with key injuries. The secondary dwindles down even more after last night as Carlton Davis suffered a quad injury and Antoine Winfield exited late with a concussion.

The Buccaneers are back at home this Sunday vs the Miami Dolphins.
