MANATEE COUNTY (WSNN) – A three-year-old girl was bay flighted to a hospital after getting bit by a dog, Saturday.
It happened just before 11 in the morning at 10th Lane W and 10 St West in Palmetto.
The Palmetto Police spokesperson tells SNN that this dog was a mixed breed. The family recently took the dog in when they found it as a stray in their neighborhood.
While the three-year-old was playing with the dog Saturday morning, it bit her in the arm. The mom and grandma were nearby and tried to separate them, but both ended up getting bit by the dog too.
The girl was airlifted to All Children’s Hospital in St. Pete and the mom and grandma were taken to local hospitals in Manatee County.
Manatee County Animal Services has the dog in custody.
