Friday night the musically talented students of the Music Compound performed in the music academies second major live concert since the pandemic began. After their first drive-in live concert was a success staff quickly worked on setting up for the encore known as the ROCKtober concert.

Rock music instructor Alyssa Martin says by hosting the concert in an outdoor venue and strictly enforcing and following CDC guidelines. Everyone is left to feel the joy the music brings to us all.

“Music makes people happy. We need music, more than ever right now,” said Martin. “We are extremely grateful to be able to collaborate and partner with place like Fruitville Grove and the Bazaar that allow us that extra space that we need to be able to have these events.”

But for those still quite not ready to return to a concert setting. All shows are broadcast LIVE on their Facebook page.

“And to bring everybody together after being cooped up for so long. It’s something really special and exciting,” said Martin.
