SARASOTA – If you skipped Black Friday shopping or still need to buy a gift this year, you have a chance to give back and shop local on ‘Small Business Saturday.
“We’ve got everything from clothing to jewelry, to plants to really great gifts for yourself and anybody that you need to give a gift to,” said Co-Owner of the Bazaar on Apricot & Lime Kim Livengood.
Tucked away on Apricot Avenue, you’ll find the Bazaar on Apricot and Lime, an indie indoor market, home to over 40 creators and curators on the Suncoast.”
“I grew up in Sarasota and I never knew what Apricot avenue was until my mom called me one day and said I just bought a warehouse and I asked her what she was going to do with a warehouse in the middle of nowhere and she said she wanted to have one places to do all of her shopping and it really has grown and evolved in the past four years and we’ve become this amazing community,” said Livengood.
The shops at the bazaar are making sure shoppers get some sweet savings this holiday season.
“Crazy deals, we’ve got buy one, get one, we’ve got 20 percent off, we’ve got gifts with purchase, it’s a really great opportunity to come shop with us,” said Livengood.
Eye catcher by PJ’s boutique is one of the many shops at the bazaar that has been a staple in Sarasota for over 39 years. Owner of the boutique, Lisa Charnicharo says she is nothing but grateful for the support her business has gotten over the years.
“People really go out of their way to come and support us and we really appreciate that, I know it has been said over and over again but we do a little happy dance when we get a great sale, we’re the people behind there that are donating to your kids soccer teams, to your local charities here, its nice to get that recognition that people come here and shop first,” said Owner of Eyecatcher by PJ’s Boutique, Lisa Charnicharo.
“I love that people are really starting to understand how important it is to shop local because it does make a difference, for the community, for of course the people inside here, we are home to over 40 different small businesses and this is a unique opportunity to a lot of small businesses a chance to shine,” said Livengood.
The Bazaar is located at 821 Apricot Ave, and is open every Thursday through Saturday from 10AM to 3PM.
