BRADENTON, Fla. (SNN TV) – Team Europe won the Handa All-Abilities Competition at the World Champions Cup in Bradenton.

The event was held Dec. 7-8 at The Concession Golf Club and showcased top players in the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability.

Team Europe’s 92 points edged out Team International’s 87 points and Team USA’s 64.

The European squad included Brendan Lawlor from Ireland, Juan Postigo from Spain, and Tommaso Perrino from Italy.

The All-Abilities Competition was played in a singles format for all 27 holes, with one player from each team in a group. The player with the lowest score on each hole received two points, while the player with the second lowest score on a hole received one point, and the player with the highest score received no points.

When players finished with the same score, those teams were awarded the same number of points.

According to a press release, ISPS Handa said it funds and promotes blind and disabled golf with the belief that sport has a unique ability to create hope and break down educational and cultural barriers.
