SARASOTA (SNN-TV) – Several Suncoast Spring Games wrapped earlier today, over at Ed Smith Stadium, the Orioles game concluded in exciting fashion.

Final: Baltimore Orioles 7, Tampa Bay Rays 6:

With the bases loaded, Rays lead 6-5, Orioles infielder Kelvin Gutierrez lined a double to left field off Cristofer Ogando, scoring Tyler Nevin, Richie Martin and Chris Owings all the way from first base, for the bases clearing, walk-off, three RBI double, clinching a 7-6 win for Baltimore.

The O’s are back in action tomorrow in Bradenton at LECOM Park against the Pirates.

Final: Minnesota Twins 9, Pittsburgh Pirates 4:

To Hammond Stadium in Ft. Myers, where the Twins hosted the Pirates, and in the 4th, catcher Gary Sanchez unloaded on a hanging breaker for a double, scoring Miguel Sano and Max Kepler, tying the ballgame up at two a piece.

Then the doors get blown off, as Byron Buxton adds to the 3-run Twins lead in the 5th, with a grand slam off Pittsburgh’s Dillon Peters, making it 9-2 Twins in the middle innings.

Minnesota would go on to win today’s contest by a final score of 9-4.

Final: Boston Red Sox 10, Atlanta Braves 7:

Staying in Ft. Myers but at Boston’s JetBlue Park, Trevor Story would make his Red Sox debut against the Atlanta Braves, going 1-2 with an RBI single.

Boston would go on to win today’s game over the Atlanta, 10-7.

Story spoke to media postgame about the joy of being back on the field. “You know, [it’s] fun to get out there and be with the boys, and play in a real game. Good to get that first one out of the way, but it felt good to just be in the flow of the game.”
