SUNCOAST – Gas prices drop again over the past week.

The price at the pump dropped another 11 cents since last week, averaging $3.50 on the Suncoast, down from $3.61 last week. Diesel has gone down even more, 15 cents from $4.83 to $4.68.

Charlotte County currently has the cheapest gas in the area at an average of $3.44, but it’s down to $3.41 in Hillsborough County just north of the area.

The national average is $3.90 at the moment.

According to AAA, falling pump prices may lead to more drivers on the road again, but it hasn’t happened yet. Many drivers are driving less and combining errands for now as they wait for gas prices to fall more.

While demand for gas has increased since last week, demand is significantly lower than last year. And if oil prices decrease some more, so will the price of gas.
