SARASOTA COUNTY (WSNN) – People on the Suncoast groove to a Van Wezel concert on the lawn, Saturday.

More than 200 people enjoyed the Latin X Hip-hop artist, Olmeca, at this free bilingual community concert.

The artist brought Hip-hop lyrics with a live band featuring Latin American rhythms.

This in-person visit to Sarasota builds off the recent year-long “virtual” residency that launched during the pandemic, with the overall goal of bringing groups together to talk about essential topics and social issues, such as diversity, inclusion, and seeing the world through a different lens.

Van Wezel IDEA (inclusivity, diversity, equity and access) Artist-in-Residence is made possible thanks to the generous donors of the Van Wezel Foundation, Jenne Britell and the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.

Audience members were spaced out and socially distanced while they enjoyed the fun event by the water.
