TAMPA (SNN-TV) – The NHL announced today that Lightning center and captain Steven Stamkos has won the one of the four final roster spots for the 2022 NHL All-Star Weekend as a result of voting in the 2022 NHL All-Star Last Men In.

Fans worldwide were able to cast their votes at NHL.com from a group of 32 All-Star caliber players – one from each NHL team.

With the selection Stamkos will be apart of a Lightning record 7th All-Star Game, and joins teammates Andrei Vasilevskiy and Victor Hedman as 2022 NHL All-Stars.

Stamkos reacted earlier today to the news, and was pleasantly surprised. “It’s always a huge honor, I’ve always looked at them that way. You never really know how many opportunities you’re going to get. This is obviously a unique situation with the fans voting me in.”

The All-Star Game will take place Saturday, February 5th in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena.
