DENVER, CO (SNN-TV) – The 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs are the only team that has overcome a 3-1 deficit in the Stanley Cup Final as they actually lost the first three games against the Detroit Red Wings before making history with four consecutive victories. The Tampa Bay Lightning trailed Pittsburgh 3-1 in the 2011 Eastern Conference quarterfinals but rallied to win the series, with two of their final three triumphs coming on the road. Tampa Bay will need to repeat that feat beginning Friday, when it visits the Colorado Avalanche for Game 5 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Final.

The Lightning, who are trying to become just the fourth franchise in history to win at least three straight Cups, failed to even the series on Wednesday as they squandered a pair of one-goal leads before falling 3-2 in overtime.

Opening face-off at Ball Arena in Denver is set for 8 p.m. ET.
