The Black Friday bustle is finished, today, its small business Saturday. Here on the Suncoast, shoppers are supporting local businesses. Many stores are offering special sales today. Venice Island Gallery, owner Linda Best says buying locally, not only supports business, it supports the community.
“It means a lot more when they buy local from small businesses,” said Best. “We know that the person that bought the art for them. It’s special. They didn’t just walk down an aisle and say ‘oh this is something they would like’ they’re actually picking out a special piece for them.”
Best is already featuring 60 local artists and says business is growing.
