SARASOTA – The event raises awareness of what the community can do to help others who are searching for their missing loved ones.

Tawana Spann, the mother of Jabez Spann the teen who disappeared two year ago from the Suncoast, organized the event to help prevent another family to go through what she did.

“It’s not just about people missing, children in these particular communities, it’s about people loosing families and it kinda being pushed to the side,” said Spann. “Even if it’s not being pushed to the side that the community needs to step up and say something is wrong here or we are going to continue to go through the same vicious cycle.”

Spann’s goal to keep Jabez memory alive is to establish an athletic and academic scholarship in his honor in the future.
