SARASOTA – Sarasota Police is investigating shooting in the 2700 Block of Gillespie Ave.

Officers arrived to the home located at 2804 Gillespie Ave. in the Newtown Community. Sources say a person was shot in the leg late Friday night.

SNN reached out to SPD for comment but a spokesperson was not immediately available at this time to release any updates or information.

Now word on if the victim was taken to the hospital or the severity of their injury at this time.
