SARASOTA – Unique on the Suncoast, the Sarasota Ballet brings a local touch to the traditional Nutcracker ballet. They call it John Ringling’s Circus Nutcracker. The ballet features all the same original music and storyline, but, with a twist, circus-themed activities. Dancers, Daniel Pratt and Samantha Benoit explain.

“There’s the main ballerina Clara, who is in fact going to – instead of the Land of the Sweets, is actually going to John and Ringling Circus. All of the diverts are the same as a normal nutcracker,” Samantha Benoit said.

“And you’ve still got really exciting things that you would expect from the ballet. Like a big snowflake scene, so you’ve got a wonderful court of ballet who are dancing together,” Daniel Pratt said.

The ballet will take place on December 20 and 21st. For more information, you can visit their website.
