BOSTON, MA (SNN-TV) – Former NFL WR Demaryius Thomas had the brain condition known as CTE, prior to his death.

According to the New York Times, medical officials at Boston University have confirmed it. 33-year-old Thomas was found dead in his Georgia home last December.

Family members thought his death was linked to seizures Thomas experienced after a 2019 car crash.

Boston University researchers believe Thomas most likely died after a seizure, but the Fulton County Coroner’s Office has not yet given an official cause of death.

Thomas played most of his ten-year career with the Denver Broncos; some consider him to be among the best receivers in team history.
