(WSNN) – The Raymond James Stadium has a capacity of about 65-thousand people, but due to COVID-19, only 25 thousand fans are able to attend the Super Bowl. So, what’s the plan for the rest of the seats?

From a distance, they look like people sitting in seats, but up close they’re photos of people printed on cardboard.

This is an idea that has already been used in other events so that stadiums look full. But, the reality is, there are no fans present, and Super Bowl 55 couldn’t be the exception.

“The NFL made a portal where fans had an opportunity to enter, by uploading a photo of themselves onto their portal, to become participants of the game, and participating in the entire experience,” Carlos Aranguren with Blue Media, said.

And it cost 100 dollars to be a part of these cutouts or silhouettes. The NFL donated the money to different non-profit organizations in our area, and also in Kansas City.

The cutouts also help with social distancing.

“That’s the idea of ??the way they’re placed. We have three spaces between the people next to us. We have distance in front of us, and distance behind us. It’s also what the NFL wanted; to be responsible on the topic of social distancing with everything that’s happening with COVID.”

These silhouettes can be seen throughout the stadium. In some sections, they put the health heroes, in others, the military personnel. Also, among the fans are adults, children, and even pets.

Carrying out this project took months for Carlos and his team at Blue Media. And then it took seven days to get here and install them. But he says they’re happy with how it turned out.

“The NFL is working it out so that people can continue to participate, not physically here, but somehow still here,” Carlos said.
