SARASOTA (SNN TV) – One was born without a right hand. The other born without an elbow and two fingers, leaving her with three fingers on her left hand. Yet the music soars past these supposed limitations — and you can hear these musicians in a free performance this weekend.

The Sarasota Performing Arts Center Foundation is hosting Adrian Anantawan and Leigh Hope McAllister at Common Ground at The Bay (1055 Blvd of the Arts) on Sunday, January 29 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The performance costs nothing to enjoy — it’s a free event.

Anantawan is the Van Wezel’s newest artist-in-residence.

From a press release: ” Born without a right hand, [Adrian] Anantawan is a world-class violinist and educator who now advocates for people with disabilities to raise awareness about issues of access and equity in arts communities. Anantawan will be accompanied by award-winning pianist Leigh Hope McAllister. McAllister was born with three fingers on her left hand and no left elbow, what is known as a left ulnar deficiency, and is a recent Boston Conservatory scholarship graduate.”
