NEWARK, NEW JERSEY (SNN-TV) – The New Jersey Devils have agreed to terms with former Tampa Bay Lightning winger Ondrej Palat, bringing a veteran Stanley Cup champion onto their young roster.

The Devils landed Palat on a five-year deal worth $30M.

In his ten years in Tampa, Palat has scored 143 goals and tallied 280 assists in 628 career games.

Palat had 31 points in 48 games during the Lightning’s back-to-back Stanley Cup wins. He had 21 points in 23 games for them last postseason.

As for his new team, the Devils have made the playoffs once in the past 10 years and not since 2018.
