SARASOTA – The Suncoast is preparing for Fred and Manatee County officials is reminding residents to be ready for whatever the storm may bring.
“As any Floridian knows that spent any time here, once it’s in the gulf thing can happen,” said Jacob Saur. We don’t expect it to strengthen too much but some strengthening should be excepted to occur as it continue to move north.”
As the Suncoast prepares for Fred’s arrival Director of Public Safety for Manatee County Jacob Saur emphasizes preparedness is key.
“I encourage residents to take actions to protect their home – those residents know the area that they live in where it become flooded normally will again become flooded,” Saur said.
Though experts agree the threat for Fred to bring the Suncoast serious server weather is low – residents in Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte County should brace for tropical storm force wind gusts.
“We’re now in the peak of hurricane season and although we won’t be issuing evacuations for this storm I encourage all residents to know their evacuation zones,” said Saur.
