NORTH PORT (WSNN) – Sarasota County is not holding graduations so the North Port community is planning to hold an ‘Alternate Graduation’ for the North Port High class of 2020.
About 40 parents and supporters attended a morning meeting at Old World Restaurant on Saturday.
Event organizers discussed the CDC guidelines they would place – everyone would be required to wear masks and social distance.
Several seniors attended and provided the adults with information on how they would like to see the ceremonies run.
Sarasota County School board member Eric Robinson and his wife, Christine Robinson, donated the funds for the venue. Parents also brought donations.
The graduations will be held at City Center Green in North Port on July 16, 2020. Ther six ceremonies begin at 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 3:30 PM, 5:30 PM, and 7:30 PM.
