LOS ANGELES (SNN-TV) – Nike is partnering with NBA legend Kobe Bryant’s widow Vanessa Bryant to honor her late husband’s legacy.

In a statement the company said quote “The collaboration will inspire a new generation of athletes and encourage youth participation in sport.”

The sports apparel giant added quote “Together with Vanessa, we hope to honor Kobe and GiGi by championing a new generation for many years to come.”

Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, were among nine people killed when a helicopter crashed into a California hillside in 2020.

The first shoe installment in the Nike-Vanessa Bryant partnership will be the Kobe-six “Mambacita Sweet 16” — in honor of GiGi Bryant.

Nike said all proceeds from the shoe will benefit the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.
