DOWNTOWN SARASOTA (SNN TV) – A new Sarasota restaurant that celebrates New York Jewish delis is now open for lunch.

Palm Avenue Deli in downtown Sarasota was previously open just for breakfast, but their planned expansion to lunch began last Tuesday, July 25.

The restaurant is now open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Herald-Tribune reports the most popular dishes have been the classic New York deli sandwiches, but the director of operations for Hi Hospitality Group is pleasantly surprised by how customers have enjoyed less traditional dishes. These include Chilled Beet, Strawberry & Watermelon Gazpacho, as well as Israeli couscous.

Palm Avenue Deli is located at 1297 North Palm Avenue in downtown Sarasota. While they’re open from 7 to 2 now, the plan is to eventually operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
