SARASOTA – If you are in need of health insurance, CAN Community Health might have you covered.
Whether you are un-insured or underinsured, medical bills can add up. Which is why CAN community health is making sure you are fully insured, through their CAN Cares program.
“I see it as it is a win-win, it’s a win for the person that doesn’t have health insurance, because they are getting health insurance but it’s also a win for our community,” said Founder of Sarasota Out .com
CAN will help eligible patients get an Affordable Care Act insured plan. And these are the requirements
“So if they are eligible, they have a small amount of income, or that they are HIV Positive, want to be on Prep or Hep C positive we will find them an insurance plan and insure them for the length of time they will need to be on the program,” said Chief Compliance Officer at CAN Community Health, Leslie Lind.
The insurance coverage will go beyond services offered at CAN.
“So if they need to go to their primary care physician, or if they need to go see a specialist, if they are having issues somewhere else or we need to find them a heart specialist or to control their diabetes or anything, especially like any mental health issues that they may be having or want to talk to somebody, this is full pledged insurance,” said Lind.
The program was a life changer for on Sarasota man when he found himself without health insurance and with kidney stones
“And incurred like 20 thousand worth of expenses which was horrible and I don’t have the money to pay that,” said Beadle.
Beadle became eligible for the program, through already being on the Prep program. He says the program is vital in protecting your overall health
“When you get sick, being able to do telehealth services or even going in and seeing a doctor, and its something that a lot of people might overlook, and think oh I thought I was healthy I don’t need insurance really that bad but one day I needed it and I didn’t have it so now having it, its an extra layer of security for me,” said Beadle.
The deadline to sign up is August 15th. For more information on the program you can visit CAN Community Health website here.
