BRADENTON – A wastewater spill discharges nearly 2,000 gallons of waste in Manatee County.

It happened near the intersection of State Road 64 and Rye Road in Bradenton. The Manatee County Collection System reports a contractor hit an eight inch force main while working in the area. 1,800 gallons of waste spilled in the area.

County officials say all discharged wastewater was contained in an excavation dug by the contractor. No surface water of the state was impacted. The force main impacted has been repaired.
