MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (SNN TV) – 93 pounds of unwanted medications were collected in the annual “Crush the Crisis” event, according to HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors North Emergency and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Residents were able to anonymously dispose of unused or expired medications. 

The event was set up as a drive-through drop-off for convenience. Residents could dispose medications while staying in their car.

Law enforcement officers collected tablets, capsules, and patches today from 9 a.m. until noon.
