SARASOTA, Fla (SNN TV) — How long do you have to wait for the dramatization of Martin Luther King Junior’s Montgomery Speech? Not long.

The Sarasota African American Cultural Center will celebrate Doctor King this Saturday, Jan. 20.

The Montgomery speech is also known as “How Long, Not Long,” in which Dr. King said, “How long? Not long, because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

Dr. King gave this speech after the Selma to Montgomery March on March 25, 1965.

The speech will be dramatized by Reverend Charles McKenzie and friends.

There will be an art exhibition, food trucks, a mini marketplace and a free Newtown Alive trolley tour, though donations are welcome.

The event will take place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Historic Leonard Reid house.
