SARASOTA – MedMen, a California based cannabis retailer, has found its new home in downtown Sarasota on Main Street.
The medical dispensary held its grand opening on Thursday opening their door to patients here on the Suncoast. Vice President of Government Affairs Nick Hansen says Med Men serve as an alternative to traditional over the counter medicine.
“It really puts the user, the patient, in control of how they dose and what works for them,” said Hansen. “A typical pharmaceutical transaction with a doctor you’re sort of given a prescription it has a very set amount of milligrams and you take it on a regiment – with really you don’t make that decision.”
The dispensary carries everything from CDB, vapes, and flower cannabis for their patients. The only way to shop at the store is to have a medical marijuana card or be prescribed by a doctor.
