SARASOTA – Have you been to the new restaurant in St. Armands, which the Herald Tribune dining editor is raving about?

Saint Armands Oyster Bar specializes in seafood and Louisiana cuisine located on 15 South Boulevard of the Presidents.

The Herald Tribune says there’s an open oyster bar where staff is shucking mollusks to be served raw, or cooked in what looks to be the old pizza oven.

They noted the alligator sausage and shrimp cheesecake appetizer, and chicken wings served in a “unique Cajun tequila sauce” which tastes exactly as described.

He says their grilled chicken sandwich was one of the most impressive items — it’s a split breast from a natural grain-fed chicken, pepped with their Cajun spices and house cracked-pepper mayonnaise.
