BRADENTON (WSNN) – As more victims come forward, a local school army recruiter faces more sexual battery charges.

Last week, 33-year-old Lloyd Duyan, an active recruiter for the U.S. Army, was arrested for alleged sexual battery against a Sarasota 17-year-old. Now, he is being charged with similar crimes in Bradenton. And this victim is a 15-year-old.

“This defendant used his position of power to take advantage of children in our community, and that’s something that we will never tolerate,” Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office PIO, Kaitlyn Perez told SNN last week.

After the arrest, Sarasota Sheriff’s detectives learned of another teen victim, in Bradenton.

“We made contact with the 15-year-old female, and her caretakers and her family,” Bradenton PD Detective, Michael Page said.

Bradenton Detectives got a search warrant of Duyan’s home.

“Which in turn gave us enough probable cause to arrest him,” Page said.

Monday, Duyan was taken into custody and charged with Lewd & Lascivious Molestation, a Second Degree Felony.

“From the sounds of it, he started to establish relationships and friendships with young students outside of school. Students trusted him and unfortunately, he used that to his advantage.”

Perez asks if you have any additional information, please come forward.

“That is the only way that we can get to the bottom of this and find out if there are more victims,” Perez said.

Detectives say he’s been an army recruiter on the Suncoast for about three years.

He’s being held at the Manatee County Jail.
