SARASOTA – Sunday’s local downpours on the Suncoast bring hazardous conditions to beach goers.
The National Weather Service in Tampa has issued a coastal flood statement for much of Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte County. A high rip current risk is in effect until Tuesday evening.
Officials say minor coastal flooding are expected this evening and overnight. And if you do plan on heading to the beach for the holidays, you’re suggested to stay close to a lifeguard station and always pay attention to signs indicating any hazardous conditions in the water.
