SARASOTA – Dozens of local business owners met at the Bazaar in Sarasota for a community meet and greet for the upcoming opening of the Limelight District.

Located on Apricot and Lime…The Bazaar is located in the middle of the new limelight district in the works.

From barber shops, bookstores, and J-Dubs Brewing Company, local business owners are looking to create a new hot spot for tourists when visiting the Suncoast.

“It was kind of a vision that we had, I’m involved with the Bazaar on Apricot and Lime we’re an indoor indie market here in the neighborhood, and this neighborhood is, it has a lot to offer we should be a destination area and people don’t really know even the street that we’re on,” said Kim Livengood, spokesperson of the Limelight District.

The new district will stretch from 17th Street and Fruitville Road to the north and south and from U.S. 301 and Tuttle Avenue to the west and east.

On Saturday the Bazaar and other local shops will host Beer, Bands and BBQ from 11-4.
