New York continued to assert itself on home ice, improving its playoff record to 6-1 at Madison Square Garden.

New York effectively solved Andrei Vasilevskiy and the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 1, in their resounding win. But then again, it is just one game. The Lightning haven’t lost back-to-back playoff games since being swept out of the playoffs in 2018.
