FLORIDA (SNN TV) – The DeSantis War Room Twitter account shared a video attacking former President Trump, who said in 2016 he would be OK with Caitlyn Jenner using any bathroom in Trump Tower. The account says ‘To wrap up “Pride Month,” let’s hear from the politician who did more than any other Republican to celebrate it.”

The ad touts laws signed by DeSantis that limit drag shows, ban transgender treatments to minors and complicate trans adults seeking care.

According to the Herald-Tribune, LGBTQ+ group Log Cabin Republicans says it’s homophobic and says the governor’s “naive policy positions are dangerous and politically stupid.”

This video was shared after the Supreme Court’s decision that favored a Christian web designer who didn’t want to create same sex marriage websites, a decision made ironically by three justices appointed by Trump, the target of the ad.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is openly gay and was asked about the video. Buttigieg said, “I’m going to leave aside the strangeness of trying to prove your manhood by putting up a video that splices images of you in between oiled-up, shirtless bodybuilders, and just get to the bigger issue that is on my mind whenever I see this stuff in the policy space, which is, again, who are you trying to help?”

Both Trump and DeSantis have referred to gender-affirming care for minors as “mutilation”
