CLERMONT, FL (SNN-TV) – For the second consecutive year, the Lakewood Ranch Lady Mustangs’ softball team are 7A State Champions.

They took on the Lake Brantley Patriots in Clermont at Legends Way Ballfields.

The defending champion Mustangs entered the title game 29-2; both losses were to the 25-5 Patriots in March. Lake Brantley senior Hannah Marien held the Mustangs scoreless across 10 innings in the first two matchups

Lakewood Ranch hammered Marien this time, with eight runs in five innings. Of the Mustangs’ 10 hits, six went for extra bases. Senior Grace Hogie and junior Addyson Bruneman were the hitting stars while Ella Dodge got the win on the mound for the now two-time state champs.
