SEMINOLE, FL (SNN-TV) – The Lemon Bay Girls golf team qualified for the 2A Florida State Girls Golf Finals for the first time since 2019, with an outstanding performance at the Class 2A Region 3 Championship held at Bardmoor Golf and Tennis Club in Seminole on Halloween.
The total team effort was led by Freshman Sophia Stiwich’s 2nd place, 3 over par, 75. Fellow Freshman Rachel Gillis shot a 90, followed by Senior Captain Madison Hanson with a 95, and Junior Haley Hall, completing the team scoring with a 96. The team total score of 356 was good enough to earn the Lemon Bay girls the 2A Region 3 Runner-up trophy, trailing only top seeded St. Petersburg High who came in with a 344.
The Lemon Bay Girls Golf Team will now have 2 weeks to prepared for the 2A Florida State 36 Hole Golf Finals on Nov.14-16, at the Mission Inn Resort in Howie-In-The-Hills, FL.
