JACKSONVILLE (SNN-TV) – The Jacksonville Jaguars have asked the Buccaneers for permission to interview offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich and defensive coordinator Todd Bowles for their head coaching vacancy.
Leftwich would signal a former star coming home. He was the organization’s 7th overall pick in the 2003 NFL draft and became the starter in his rookie year. He played most of four seasons until losing the job to David Garrard in 2007.
Bowles went 24-40 in his head coaching stint with the New York Jets from 2015 to 2018. He then rejoined head coach Bruce Arians with the Buccaneers in 2019.
Included on the Jaguars request list is Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn — plus former NFL head coaches Doug Pederson and Jim Caldwell.
