SARASOTA – It was the inaugural Christmas in the Park hosted by Streets of Paradise.

The event took place in downtown Sarasota at Five Point Park.

More than 100 homeless people showed up to receive free food, toiletries, coats and new sleeping bags. Everything provided was donated by Suncoast residents. Including the food which was homemade by members of Streets of Paradise.

“There’s a big need in Sarasota especially around the holidays and you can see the big contrast between the haves and the haves not in this city so we decided to try to kinda combat that by doing what we can to help out people who are less fortunate,” says Greg Cruz, Co-Founder of Streets for Paradise.

Every Tuesday and Thursday Streets of Paradise gives out food to the homeless at the Salvation Army.
