SARASOTA – Sunday is International Women’s Day and Impact 100 S-R-Q, an organization of women helping nonprofits on the Suncoast celebrates a huge milestone.

The group founded in 2019 follows the model of having each member donate $1,000 towards their five focus areas. Those areas being family, art & culture, education, health & wellness, and environment & recreation. Founding President of Impact100 SRQ Jane Watt says this year Impact100 is receiving a branding makeover and have a record setting 342 members on board. The third largest launch in the U.S. out of 53 other chapters.

“We are so excited at launch we’re the third largest chapter launch in the history of the impact 100 model,” said Jane Watt. “And in our second year we have our largest number of returning member of the impact model worldwide. In addition we’re the first chapter to ward three grants in our second year.”

Karen Orr joined as a founding member. She says after talking to Watt she jumped on-board wanting to help other nonprofits that would make a difference in the life’s of Suncoast residents.

“It’s awesome that we have three this year, we’re very excited about that,” said Orr. “I would’ve been happy for my dollars to have gone to any one of those organizations, but certainly the two that won, very worthy very great projects  and I was happy to see the impact we were making in the community.”

Last year Impact 100 SRQ donated a total of $228,000 and granted $114,000 to The  Haven and Mothers Helping Mother respectively. This year the group will donate $342,000. Impact100 SRQ is the first ever chapter to be awarded more than half a million dollars in their first two years. For more information on the group visit impact100council.org
