SARASOTA – The Humane Society of Sarasota County is opening its doors to more animals from Louisiana. 

In the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, the Humane Society of Sarasota County is aiding animal shelters in Louisiana whose facilities were damaged by the category 4 storm. 

In coordination with 10 other shelters, 94 dogs and puppies, and 175 cats and kittens have been rescued. 

The animals will soon be available for fostering and adoption.
