SARASOTA COUNTY (WSNN) – Thanksgiving is all about coming together, giving thanks, and of course making a Turkey. But it’s not just about cooking it, it’s also about carving it. And Morton’s Gourmet Market’s Chef Sal brings his knives to SNN to show us how it’s done.

He says the first step is to have a sharp and heavy knife to cut through the joints and bones.

You’ll start with removing the legs which include the drumstick and thighs; then the breasts, cutting along the sternum; and then removing the wings.

From there, you slice up the meat into pieces you can eat.

You start with the dark meat; the drumstick and thighs. Then you slice along the joint, separating them.

From there, you slice the breasts, leaving the skin on and cut against the grain.

And voila, you have a carved turkey!
