FLORIDA – Governor Ron DeSantis hits the road to campaign for school board members around the state.

While school board races are technically non-partisan and supposed to be local to that specific district, the governor has endorsed candidates many Florida counties, including Sarasota, Miami-Dade, Hillsborough, Manatee, Alachua and others.

The Herald-Tribune reports that some school districts have resisted the governor’s statewide agendas. Now DeSantis wants to install candidates who share his views.

The Republican Party of Sarasota County sent an email Friday with an August 21st invitation to the Sarasota Shrine Center where DeSantis will be attending.
